The Feng-shui of Landform Classification

Urban Structures as Landforms

Unlike some landforms, human-made structures in general carry no primordial energy, but like landforms, they can direct, promote, or block the flow of energy. Some examples:

  • narrow streets surrounded by skyscrapers act like narrow valleys with steep, sloping walls
  • buildings with knifelike edges act like jagged peaks
  • pointed objects like TV antennas and certain kinds of sculpture act like pointed rocks
  • streets with fast-flowing traffic act like swift-flowing rivers
  • roads shaped like dragons act like water dragons
Examples of harmful objects in urban environments

Spiky and blade-like sculpture   Building shaped like an ax

Building with protruding beams   Spiky pavilion

Satellite dishes   A triangular roof that resembles a spike

Sculpture of guns and arrows   Model of a missile

Structure on top of a building resembling a machine gun   Tank pointing at a house
